Winners + antibiotic recovery

"You know what's fun?" she said, sarcasm dripping off of every syllable. "Recovering from three things at once."
Don't get me wrong: I'm super grateful for the ability to recover. And I love that my body can heal. But whew - this week has been quite, uhh, interesting?

But before I get into that, it's giveaway time!

I love giveaways! And I've got the Merry Mumma Month winners right here - woo hoo!

Congratulations to the winners of last month's practice/challenge:

Winners (they could only win once) and their prizes:

  • Daily: Leah C. - 35% off my entire Wellevate store all summer

  • Weekly: Leslie Y. - free sauna session

  • Bonus: Mary M. - clean beauty travel essentials

  • Overall: Jessica O. - Correct Toes + free Plunge session

Hooray! I'll reach out to y'all individually so I can send you your prizes!

I've got some other giveaways happening this month because despite the current state of recovery I'm in, I'm still celebrating some big things - wanna win?!

1. I'm celebrating 3 years as an advocate for safer beauty products, so I'll be doing THREE giveaways this month from Beautycounter:

  • Anyone who signs up as a Band of Beauty member ($29 for the year, free shipping, gift when you sign up, and product credit back on every purchase!) will be entered to win a travel size All Bright C Serum.

  • Anyone who signs up as a Beautycounter consultant and purchases a Starter Set will be gifted their own Flawless in Five set from me - yup, no drawing, just a gift because I love this company and I love the idea of more voices joining this movement!

  • Anyone who places an order of $100 or more will be entered to win a travel size Overnight Resurfacing Peel.

2. I'm teaching at the Parker Seminar this month, which is a large event that I'm really excited about. It'll be my first chiropractic "stage" presentation, and I get to present on Functional Assessment of Pregnant Patients. In honor of this, I'll giveaway a copy of my Basic Childbirth Ed course to any chiropractor or CA who registers using my referral code (LMFL21$50 - which also gives you a $50 discount!). Just email me your registration confirmation to be entered.

And now to the triple recovery thing.

I'm still in concussion recovery (I'll continue intentional cognitive rest for at least one more week (though possibly beyond that, which I'm open to) and am not working out), and just this week I found an embedded (though not filled) tick, and got a head cold. The last two things may or may not be related. (The tick appears to be possibly a Lone Star Tick - I just sent it off to the lab for testing - which does not spread Lyme, but can cause a severe red meat allergy among other diseases.)

I stayed home from work yesterday, which is a rarity, but I had a pretty quick onset of a head cold Wednesday night; the same night that I discovered the tick (maybe a stress response to freaking out about an embedded tick? Fun fact: it was embedded in my ass cheek). Lots of head pressure and congestion and runny orifices - blegh. I'm better today, but still recovering.

After discovering the tick, I contacted my favorite MD (Dr. Sierakowski - the one I recommend you see if you're looking for whole person care) and she suggested I start 48 hours of antibiotics, which is not something either of us take lightly. But the ill effects of embedded ticks are also not something we take lightly.

As in all choices: I took the information provided to me, determined the benefits and risks of all plausible scenarios, and chose the path with the most likely outcome that aligned with my values.

I've healed a leaky gut before, recovered from antibiotic usage, and have even reversed two autoimmune conditions. I have no shortage of belief in my body's ability to heal. I chose to take the antibiotics. If you're interested in antibiotic recovery, I created this video a few years ago and it's helped several people do just that.

The video is not free, so if you're just here for the free stuff, no problem. Here's a really important piece: I always have saccharomyces boulardii on hand because it holds up against antibiotics. You won't fully recover with just that, but it helps you keep at least some gut flora through abx usage.

In addition to my regularly scheduled supplements and healing routines, I recently started making Susun Weed's Herbal Infusions, am following my antibiotic recovery protocol, and I'm basically throwing the kitchen sink at this head cold. So I have a minimum of 4 beverages, homeopathy pellets, and multiple supplements nearby at all points of the day.

So here's to a restful and enjoyable weekend for both you and me!
